Why Longhorn Surround Sound?

Have you ever noticed that stage performers have speaker boxes containing many speakers, did you wonder why so many? Could they use just one big speaker, it would be cheaper to make and easier to move from one venue to another!

The answer is the larger the speaker the lower the frequency range it can reproduce, by having multiple speakers you can move a larger volume of air yet retain the speakers range.

Many surround speakers have just one speaker element per box, while you can pump a lot of wattage into just one speaker some of it is wasted being transformed into heat, in extreme cases resulting in failure of the speakers core, after all there is just so much air a given surface area can move regardless of the wattage used.

Longhorn surround systems use 4 speakers per surround channel which is a very efficient way to reproduce the real cinema feeling without massive wattage, what's more they look better than PC style speakers!
